Grasp your chance to source premium stationery products at Hall 5B! |
Coming to its 13th edition, the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair, located in the Hall 5B, allows around 220 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions to showcase their latest stationery products and meet thousands of domestic and international buyers, creating unlimited business opportunities.
Exhibitors from Korea, Thailand and Taiwan especially form pavilions to showcase their products.
The Korean Pavilion, apart from the Korean exhibitors, brings together a group of more than 60 Korean young trade experts, who are members of the Global Trade Experts Incubating Program (GTEP). “Our young trade experts will do marketing for Korean SMEs which produce stationary and related products. This is the first time we are here. I think we can achieve good results from the fair and establish a long term relationship with HKTDC.” Professor Yoon Say Jeong Ph.D., Business and Economics Department International Trade Division, Dankook University, South Korea.

Market insights from industry experts
“Stationery Trends and Market Opportunities in Europe and US” Seminar
During the seminar delivered by Mr Ryan Farber, Group Managing Director of RMS International (UK) Limited, he predicted there will be USD$155.4 billion sales in the coming 3 years for Stationery Products and several trends that stationery companies have to pay attention to.
With a declining demand in traditional stationery including pens and paper files, because of digitalisation of commercial communications, stationery companies have to diversify their product line with well-thought packaging strategy to capture consumers’ interests. Companies should also ensure their products quality control can pass the changing and tightening safety regulations by the US and European Union.
Children stationery with educational and craft elements has huge market potentials as parents are very willing to spend money on stationery which facilitates kids to read, write and play at the same time.
“Stationery Product & Colour Trends in 2013” Seminar
Ms Maryann M.W. Wong, Director of Sales & Marketing of Fashion & Home, Pantone, the global authority on colour and provider of professional colour standards for the design industries, explained the colour and trend direction in 2013 by introducing the nine palettes for 2013 which were featured in the “PANTONE VIEW home + interiors 2013” forecasting book. Ms Wong suggested that skillfully balanced colour palettes that play to their practical side will remain vital to enticing the would-be consumer or client.
Hear what buyers say
“It is my first visit to the fair and I’m here to source. It’s easier to source under one roof and I can meet the industry players seeing and touching the actual products. I’m looking for all kinds of stationery product. There is a growing need for stationery products worldwide. I’m very happy with the quality of the items that I am seeing. The fair is very well organized and I like it a lot. I’m going to be spending the next three days walking around the hall.”
Mr. W.A. Burger, Chief Executive Officer, Blue Sheep Stationery, South Africa
“This is our first visit to the show and we are looking at the stationery fair, the toy fair and the baby products fair. We are starting a new company specialising in children’s toys and stationery we have come to source products and place orders. The quality of products I see seems satisfactory.”
Ms Gaby Novelli, Managing Director, Exclusive Designer Gifts, United Kingdom
Hear what exhibitors say
“This is the first time I have exhibited at the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair but 2 years ago I was in the Toys Fair section. We are launching a new range of puzzles and games targeting 5 – 8 years old age group and trying to test the market potential of them.
Shows like this are important to the industry because there are a lot of buyers from around the world that are coming to the fairs in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland now as they offer every kind of children products available for sourcing. Due to the economic recession in global economy, it’s more important to exhibit in a different variety of fairs, particularly renowned ones likes these, to explore new buyers.”
Mr Apurv Garg, Director, Brijbasi Art Press Limited, India (Booth: 5B-D23)
“We were at the show last year and we are back with the hope of more customers. We enjoyed the location a lot better than last year. We are exhibiting ink jet cartridges, laminators, shredders, binding machines and office supplies. Peach is a European company but we run the Asia Pacific area by our Australia’s office. We are looking for distributors especially in countries where we are not represented at the moment – anywhere in the Asia and Middle East regions. We want to achieve brand awareness by joining the fair and we are hoping that our corner booth and our bright peach colour will attract a lot of attention.”
Mrs Elizabeth Wolfensberger, New Business Manager, Peach Asia, Australia (Booth: 5B-F02)
